Want to post some new thoughts

And give the place a redesign to boot.

I'm moving from NZ back to the UK shortly, so will be doing a series of compare and contrasts...which will be fun for me.

I will also be doing some music and film reviews, or at least linking to ones I've done on Amazon.

Then I'll do some post about Gaming and the like, linking to Joystiq and others while added my 2 cents.

Plus I definitely need to hook this and my flickr account together better

Ok so...sorry! i signed up to adsense...as an experiment more than anything really...wont make me any money, so dont worry!And like they say, if you dont like something dont click the link...or piss off and die...i dont remember the exact quote, but the point remains that if you dont like the 1 ad at the top then you are just a moaning old toss aint ya? :-D in the nicest possible way.

haha, anyways, the main point off adding the adsense is to see the value in it...incase i ever get a real website with something important and or informative to say.

anyone who feels the need can leave a comment to the effect that i suck or engage in homosexual activity, if they are truly offended by the ads...all emails and comments will be treated in no confidence at all...i may post them into the blog and all reply in a immature and / or abbusive manner...dont you just love the internet.

part 2...

...after a fashion

i've given up making excuse for the lack of updates...im starting not to believe myself, so what makes me think you will right?

anywho...i have 2 and a half days left at work, so im pretty checked out and i'm just randomly searching the web...fun huh?

Xbox 360 in america, good for them...March '06 over here...i wont be getting one as the baby will be pretty young and my main focus around then (and for a good long time after that too!) so probably wait for the PS3, no biggy...never was a great fan of the Xbox to be fair and the less said about microsoft the better. Hope the rumours of Linux or even OsX on the playstation are true.

One a saidenote, the only real winner of these next-gen console wars will be IBM...with the PowerPC chip and the Cell powering all the machines...they must be laughing...no wonder they havent made too much of a fuss over Apple dumping them.

Side note 2, hehe, bad drift in my head today...OsX for intel has been leaked again and cracked again...our CPU doesnt have SSE2 support, so i havent been able to check it out, although i'd love too! anyways, all the up-to-date info is here http://www.osx86project.org/index.php?option=com_frontpage&Itemid=1

Oh deary me

I'm so lazy! The updates for this blog need to come much faster!
In my defense, its been a big month and a bit!
Firstly, I turned 21, and with that came the overwhelming realization that I am now in fact a man...scary times. I have come to terms with this and I'm quite looking forward to the rest of my life, so don't shed a tear for me faithful readers.
I saw my parents again, for the first time in months...thankfully they are gone now (hehe, joking) but it was fun to catch up and see them again. Wont be seeing them or the rest of my family til xmas next year (the wedding!) but that's no big deal really, I am enjoying the life I have over here very much!
on another note...work has been taking up a lot of time...contracting is very good or stable for a father to be, so I managed to wrangle myself a permanent position with a prominent IT company (I wont say the name, for fear of being fired for blogging related activities before I even start!) So I start there on Monday, bright-eyed and bushy-tailed, ready to learn and help :-) haha, they are gonna make me a MCP (fancy micro$oft qualification) which means I get a lil wallet card saying I'm an IT profession, good stuff huh?

wow....this is getting long...I'll break it up into 2 parts for ease of digestion, but no promises on the time frame for part 2! I'm a busy man...I'll have a baby here in 7 weeks!

P.s. Come on you Villa...they managed a win AND 3 goals...glory days are here again!

busy!

Was so busy yesterday, had to look after the whole helpdesk on my own! to say it was a knightmare doesnt really do the thing justice...but as ever, your humble eponymous hero was up to the task!
not sure what else to say today...bit tired, played football on wednesday for the first time in seven or eight months and i am bloody nackered! got volleyball aswell next week...need to get the old fitness up.

the double edged sword

now...interest...google add blog searching and ramp up ther index to (you have to guess...hehe, fun stuff)...and guess who gets included...why little old me.
i've been wait on this a long time...finially i get into the realms of the searchable internet and i can get traffic to hear read all the "interesting" things i have to say...joy oh joy you may be thinking for me...but not quite...i have now joined the ranks of my many blogging bretheren who face the common emeny...the spammers! i guess that mearly hours after this humble little blog was thrust into the teeming mass of webpages that is google's index (not to mention that im on yahoo and others too) that the grubby spammers got the hands all over it!
well, slight exageration, i have had only 1 spam comment, that will be saved for prosperity...turned on the nifty comment word verification jobby so i should be better protected for the time being.
i keep hear how this site can make me money...looking into adsense and things...but for now im happy to get people here and not show them any ads or try and sell them anything (i'd sell karma, but apparently that can only be apportioned by the cosmos, so im pretty screwed there!)

one last note before i do some work...i will not tollerate people trying to keep their language clean on my website...in fact comments may be edited or delete if there isnt enough smut or abuse flying around...keep the world colourful people!

so i've been thinking about google

check out the link to the Google page i'm using at the moment, i think its great that we can use so many different page views, but thats not what i wanted to talk about.

i like what they are doing, some people are scared / paranoid about the company, but i think the only thing we need to worry about is far down our throats they are gonna push their targeted adverts.

i dont use G-mail, but i hear only good things, i use Google Earth (but am not over-awed by the coverage of the UK, get some great visuals of disney and universal theme parks though, which is always good), I've had a look at Google talk...i dont use IM anymore but it seems like Google just wanted to throw a spanner in the works with this one (see the many articles about its open-source jabberness and how Yahoo, AOL and M$ will have to implament similar things into their clients to stop mass migration to google, even though its an under developed beta program) and looks like voice calling over broadband is where they are looking to go with this lil piece of kit.

And what do i say? fair play to them, anything that rocks the establishment is ok by me...and Google certainly do that. I've heard people say that in a few years we will be saying "remember google" like we now say "remember AltaVista" or "remember BBS" but i dont see that...this is a public company that will keep their labs churning out (branded) programs and (hopefully) keep their index in tip top shape and keep the data integrity...while finding new and innovative ways to advertise to us...as long as all that happens, we will see Google in our RSS feeds, our newspapers, or social networking sites and on articles and blogs the world over for many many years to come

well ive been pretty slack!

so here is a big update!

me and my lovely partner had a second scan yesterday, and everything is absolutely hunky dory! the lil things is growing really well and she (yes i said she, as it looks pretty certain that we are having a baby Morgan [sorry for double brackets, but Morgan is the girls name we like, otherwise it would have been Dylan]) is due around about Jan 2nd 06! so thats pretty wow, we are very excited as you can imagine....the new loving and under-prepared parents on the block :-p

what else? i've been checking out Digg.com, will be adding a link on the side bar to it, but there is one above for now, brilliant tech site, sign up and help make it what it is. I mean reading the stories is fun, but get in there, say which stories you digg and they might make it to the front page...you can even submit stories! but the best part, is Diggnation, check it out on itunes (or whatever funky podcasting software you use!) Alex and Kevin crack me up at work, its funny as. i advise anyone who doesnt know about this, to at least check it out....and flame me to hell andback if you think im wrong but at least try it!

not much else, i'm trying to buy a dryer, if anyone has one they wanna get shut of, just let me know! how uninteresting can i make this blog i wonder....?

Baby!

Its official...we are having a baby...not you and i (in reference to whoever is reading this) but my fiance and i. We had the scan yesterday! it was strange and amaazing and beautiful and a little scary...but i'm so glad we saw it.
We may be about 16 weeks, so it looked like an actual baby, with all the parts in the right place...lying on its lil belly! Heard the heart beat too...it was all very WOW, really want to get the sonograph scanned in, but not sure how well it'll come out

Fantasy Football

Its that time again....the football pre-season has kicked off, and as transfer speculation fills the tabloid, broadsheets and web alike, fantasy football is up and running. I have picked a team, which i will publish here for you later (baring in mind i can make free changes upto 11th of august!) If anyone wants to join the super league will me and my friends, leave me a comment with your email address and i'll send you the link! (As always i do have Henry in the team...who can honestly say there isnt a great chance of him being top scorer again...plus with his assists and man of the match awards, he's a points horse!)
